Spantech has been selected to design and build a new wide-body MRO hangar for Condor Technik GmbH at Frankfurt Airport, one of Europe’s largest and most technically demanding aviation hubs. Located in Cargo City South, the facility will give Condor Technik its first dedicated A330neo maintenance capacity at their Frankfurt home base.
The project strengthens Condor Technik’s operational independence, reducing reliance on external infrastructure and increasing flexibility in maintenance planning, while supporting the continued growth of Condor’s modern long-haul fleet.

The hangar will span 80 by 75 metres and is fully tailored to the specific requirements of wide-body aircraft maintenance. Every aspect of the building is engineered to meet strict technical and regulatory standards, in line with German GEG requirements.
The project integrates advanced heating systems and high-performance thermal insulation to ensure optimal working conditions year-round. Fire safety is addressed through the installation of foam cannon systems, while the full electrical distribution is designed to support complex maintenance operations. In addition, the facility will include integrated office spaces, sanitary installations and complete plumbing infrastructure, all delivered as part of a cohesive turnkey solution.

Beyond its technical performance, the hangar is conceived as a natural extension of the Condor brand. The exterior will be finished in the airline’s distinctive blue and white striped pattern, directly inspired by the aircraft colour scheme and subtly referencing the visual codes of travel and leisure.
This approach highlights the high level of customisation possible with Spantech structures, allowing each building to be tailored not only to technical requirements but also to reflect the client’s visual identity.

Building at Frankfurt Airport requires a high level of precision, coordination and technical expertise. Its scale and operational complexity leave no room for approximation, making it one of the most challenging environments for this type of infrastructure in Europe.
For Spantech, this project is a strong validation of its ability to deliver in such conditions. Every element is carefully engineered and executed to meet the highest standards, ensuring full compliance and long-term reliability.
Thanks to our highly specialised experience in the aviation and MRO sector, our team ensures fast delivery with optimal budget control, even on the most complex hangar projects.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 2, marking the official start of construction. Delivery is scheduled for early 2027, resulting in a total construction timeline of approximately nine months.

Spantech would like to thank Condor Technik and all project partners for their trust and collaboration. We look forward to delivering a facility that strengthens Condor Technik’s technical capabilities for years to come.
On 15 October 2025, Spantech officially marked the groundbreaking of a new heavy maintenance hangar at Benslimane Airport near Casablanca. The project, commissioned by Maintenance Aero Maroc (MAM), a subsidiary of Sabena Engineering, demonstrates a major step in developing regional aviation MRO capabilities. Spantech has been contracted to design and build the hangar structure, which will […]
