The modular structures are made with galvanised corner fittings, aluminium profile structures with steel connections. They do not require traditional, invasive foundations like traditional buildings, however this does not compromise the integrity of the building, as the structures can withstand heavy weather conditions, high wind speeds and heavy snow loads.

A temporary building is a modular, pre-engineered structure designed for fast installation and full flexibility. Where traditional construction is fixed in place, a Spantech structure can be assembled, dismantled and relocated without major groundwork. That flexibility doesn’t mean a compromise on durability – many of our structures stay in operation for decades while remaining fully demountable. “Temporary” refers to the method, not the lifespan.
In most cases, no traditional foundation is required. Spantech structures can be installed on almost any surface – compacted soil, an existing parking lot, or a ring beam where needed – using anchoring solutions such as pegs, screw anchors, chemical anchors or pre-cast anchor plates. Our engineers will advise the best option for your site.
Speed is one of the biggest advantages of building modular. Our standard warehouses can be operational within 7 days from existing stock. Custom-engineered structures typically take 3 to 7 months from contract to handover depending on size and complexity – our MRO hangars, for instance, are delivered within 4 to 7 months, and we completed a 45,000 sq ft soundstage in just three months.
Once installed, the structures are built to last. The aluminium alloy frame and hot-dip galvanised steel connections have a lifespan of over 50 years, while the PVC-coated technical textile roof lasts 20 to 25 years. And because everything is demountable, many of our structures go on to a second, third or fourth life after relocation.
Spantech offers free spans from 12m up to 95m and eave heights up to 13m, so the structure fits the function rather than the other way around. Warehouses and industrial halls typically range from 12m to 50m+ spans with eave heights of 4m to 12m; sports halls reach spans up to 50m; and our MRO hangars span up to 95m to accommodate wide-body aircraft, including the A380. Every structure is fully customisable to your exact requirements.
Cost depends on the size, the span, and the level of finishing you need – an insulated industrial warehouse with heavy-duty flooring and HVAC sits at a different price point than a basic storage hall. To keep your investment flexible, we offer purchase, lease, and both short- and long-term rental. Whether you need a permit depends on local regulations. Short-term projects often don’t require one, and many countries offer a temporary building permit that is processed faster than a standard application. We always recommend checking with your local authorities, and we’ll provide the technical specifications, drawings and structural engineering documents to support your application.
Sustainability is built into the method. Because our structures are 100% dismountable and relocatable, they fit naturally into circular construction – reused rather than demolished. More than 40% of the aluminium we use is recycled, which cuts embodied CO2 by up to 40% compared to traditional construction. On top of that, the buildings can be fitted with insulated sandwich panels, a double inflated textile roof, solar panels, heat-recovery HVAC and LED lighting to bring running costs and energy use down further.
